Light the Hearth Festival

On may 10th I read the Poem “I Stand with You” as part of the Street Roots vendor reading and Zine release at the Light the Hearth Festival. Charles did take video of me reading of which I have yet to watch, however as soon as I obtain the proper permissions to add the video to my Facebook I will attach the link to the original blog post for “I Stand with You”.

Which included the following events.

Light the Hearth Festival

This is a past event. Wednesday, May 10 at 4:00pm

Jamison Square Park 810 N.W. 11th Ave., Portland, OR 97209

A city-wide celebration of creativity to bring together houseless and housed Portlanders, this event is hosted by the Right 2 Survive Ambassador Program, which creates opportunities for houseless and housed Portlanders to better know each other, promoting the knowledge and expertise of houseless Portlanders. This festival will feature creativity from houseless Portlanders as well as artists from across the city who support them.

The Right 2 Survive Ambassador Program is supported by an equity grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council and a neighborhood grant from Neighbors West Northwest.

All ages are welcome to enjoy the programming of theater, poetry, film and music, and to participate in making art. Included in the program are creative projects among houseless Portlanders, including houseless and formerly houseless youth:

• P:EAR youth painting exhibit and reading from their Old Town Street Zine
• Street Roots Vendor poetry reading and zine release
• Right 2 Dream Too members’ musical performances
