Rains, before and now
By Aileen McPherson
Turn eyes to the sky
Face the rain screaming drains
Wash away the sadness
Never erasing the pain
When the sky cries, so do I.
Bless his face loving grace
Strong embrace uplifts
Turning face caress
No disgrace don’t hide
Gently whisk away
The rains stemming the tide.
Now when the rains arrive
I no longer wait for the sky.
