Will we be whole

Will we be whole
By Aileen McPherson

Air, Fire, Water, and Earth

Together become the greatest
Spirit of life, the soul
Of the great mother and father.
By natural laws of compassion and
Trust without whose guidance
We would be lost.
For when the flesh becomes
corrupted and diseased
By uncontrolled desires and greed,
It brings fear, pain, and untold shame
Upon innocent loving souls.
Through what right of passage
Does this horror hold, for
So many young souls.
Years of macabre torture
Both physical and mental,
Until they are battered broken and
Locked within their private
Cages sealed in darkness.
Until the day they find Escape or
Live the rest of their lives
Enclosed in their own fears,
Once ruled by their makers
The torturers and abusers.
Lonely, feeling forgotten
Shunned, and outcast
From the great Spirits.
For when innocence is lost
In such ways it rips us apart
From all things good and loving.
Only when we are able to
Find our way back to the
One true mother and father, back
To the earth, to breathe the pure
Cleansing air, be bathed in
The waters of renewal and
Warmed by the everlasting fires.
Of the heart, will we be whole and
Reunited with the great spirits?
Yes
