Sadly I won’t be able to be at either event this week which means I won’t get to see my bowl after glazing a and firing, which changes the appearance, yet I know Dana will get an awesome picture of it for me.

Gather:Make:Shelter’s hand-painted bowls make wonderful, meaningful holiday gifts and help support the work we do. We’re so excited to see you there.

All hand-painted bowl sales support The Gather:Make:Shelter Academy, a creative citywide art collaboration. Artists who are housed and artists experiencing houselessness and poverty connect through intimate art collaborations over the course of one year.
Additional activities include group visits to the Portland Art Museum, local art galleries, and research sessions at the Multnomah County Library. Throughout the project, artists experiencing houselessness have the opportunity to be in leadership roles and co-teach art workshops with Founding Director, Dana Lynn Louis.
60 workshops will be held at social service agencies and impact over 600 people. Learn more about us here.
This is the best I painted before it’s glazed and fired, a lotus or just some beautiful flower.
