We had a beautiful evening at Castaway Portland it was our first time at this venue and it was very lovely, nice open spaces, bright windows for lots of light, amazing metal sculptures in their outdoor areas, and the DJ played lots of good music that helped keeps spirits happy.
Our delicious meal was provided by Devil’s Food Catering has catered our fundraiser 3 years in a row now, the staff are always friendly, and the foods are wonderful. It was an appetizer buffet with staff carrying around various plates not from the buffet, I love the shrimp puffs, my favorites are always their deviled eggs, and you gotta love the prosciutto , fresh mozzarella balls, and the mini sliders. All served with your choice of kombucha, ciders, and red or white wine, I love a good Blood wine, lol.

Journeys vast spread far
Lives connected reconcile
Strive for compassion.
My voice has a place in this world,
Calm is forgiving to the soul,
When silence within can be achieved.
I have a presence that embodies
Resolve, Strength, Courage, Power
To overcome any obstacle presented.
Knowledge to share, trade, and glean,
For from all things there is
Something to learn, especially
When guiding or teaching, since
I am a student as well.
I am more than the sum of my being
Worthy of happiness, love, everything
In between spirituality and surviving
On streets mean, living, working, all
While healing comes in many forms
Through many faces.
