New poetry: I will not be silent

Bringing you a new poem I will not be silent

I will not be silent
By Aileen McPherson

What are you doing to us!
Why did you treat us as if we are less human, animals?
To be punished, tortured, jailed,
if Lucky we may be tried and convicted.
If not we will be executed right on the spot.
We are the impoverished, Born into the lowest class, also cast down.
We strive to be better than the sum of our parts,
The visionaries who spark imagination,
We are the makers of change and we ask
those who seek to have and change power.
Who do you protect, who do you serve!!!
For if all you serve is the rich and prosperous
then you do not protect the people of this country.
I ask again who do you protect,
Who do you serve?
How must I vote to get My voice heard?
All politicians see is how much money is for me, me, ME?
I ask how will you protect the masses?
When the masses can vote that you
no longer serve the greater good of our home,
our communities, and Country.
I have a choice, and a voice,
my message I can and will Vote you out
If you won’t Serve the people.
I am one of the Masses and we are powerful.
